The ''Vojvodina Novolin'' volleyball club
from Novi Sad started preparations for the following competitive
season on the 1st of August.
In the popular restaurant ''Ribarac'', the usual meeting was held
at which all the players, the professional headquarters and managers
were present.
After usual greetings the sports director
Nikola Maric and the chief of the professional headquarters exposed
on the plan for the preparations.
Because of a broad calendar of competitions of national selections
(selection A, University, Mediterranean) and participation of our
players in them, only several seniors will be at disposal to the
professional headquarters.
For that reason several games and tours in Russia were cancelled,
and only juniors will go for preparations in Ivanjica.
As far as the members of the competing team
are concerned,major changes have been brought about.
The very first base left the team:Petkovic,Mijic,Markovic,Milosevic,Kopanja,Mladenovic,and
Cato stopped playing actively.
In the last term Igor Mladenovic(Partizan),Ivan Knezevic(Milicionar)
and Milan Jurisic(Starcevo) joined the club.
The players in selection A will be deployed in the second half of
September, and the ''students'' at the opening of September.
For the time being, the participation at
three tournaments is certain.
From 7th - 9th September - the tournament in the Hungarian town
of Dunaujvaros
From 21th - 23rd of September we participate at the memorial tournament
Sirotanovica in Belgrade.
From 27th - 29th of September the memorial tournament ''Dusan Toljagic''
takes place in Novi Sad where the participation of Crvena Zvezda
and two foreign teams is planned.
The Yugoslav championship starts on the 5th,
6th and 7th of October, and Vojvodina is hosted in Veliko Gradiste
in the first round.
The important news is that our team got the
organization of eliminatory tournament of CEV. With participation
of Berlin clubs, Aris clubs and the Turkish representative this
competition will take place from 6th-8th of December in Novi Sad.
Now we can only wish good luck to our fellows
in the following season in all competitions in which our club participates.
